Prince William Set to Attend UN Climate Conference in Brazil
The Prince of Wales is scheduled to attend the COP30 climate summit in South America next month, according to royal officials.
The father and son duo made a joint appearance on Thursday evening at a event preceding the climate summit, which is set to be held in the northern Brazilian city of Belém.
Father and son were participating in the scientific institution event, marking an rare public appearance together at a climate summit preparatory event co-hosted by the UK government.
Climate Leadership Commitment
King Charles has been a long-time champion of protecting nature - and Prince William has taken on the baton, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be taking place in South America ahead of the UN meeting.
Royal sources have characterized Prince William's attendance at the forthcoming conference as assuming an significant responsibility in "climate diplomacy".
Previous Activities
The monarch and his heir, making a joint entrance in the royal vehicle, were introduced to participants featuring conservation experts, researchers, climate change campaigners, diplomats and politicians.
This involvement included speaking together with French leader Macron of the French Republic and other global statesmen at the Marine Economy Conference in the Principality of Monaco earlier this year.
